Shem’s commercial photography work has led him to many corners of the globe on commissions for various clients. Originally starting off by making a name for himself in the winter sports capital of St. Moritz, Switzerland, Shem has since worked on commission all over the world. He is on the title sequence for the Award winning BBC “Planet Earth” series where he was the photography guide and predator specialist for the Great plains episode featuring lions hunting elephants in the Savuti in Botswana. This sequence was one of the most popular episodes of the whole Planet Earth Series.
In 2011 Shem was requested to specifically photograph Earth Lodge at SABI SABI. Earth lodge is constantly rated in the top 5 hotels in the world. His brief was to showcase it in a manner never seen before for which he produced images that were used for all SABI SABI’s high end marketing and branding.
Camp Jabulani is a 5 star Relais and Chateaux lodge for which Shem produced their exclusive calendar range focussing on elephants. Due to the elegance of the design and the striking imagery it became a feature of their high end marketing campaign in 2010.
In 2010, Shem provided all 56 images for the acclaimed Africa Geographic annual wildlife calendar, which went on to sell out within 2 months, the first time it has done so.
Shem is always attracted to challenging and creative projects. His intricate knowledge of Africa, travelling in Africa, wildlife and natural history behaviour makes him a valuable asset to working on the continent.
Over the years Shem has built up a host of key clients that he consistently works with, providing them with excellent service and amazing imagery delivered by state of the art equipment. If you are interested in commercial photography work, please contact Shem’s office.
